As a Quality Lead working with the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, and precision of our job sites. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects, ranging from $1.5 million to more than $1 billion, you will lead the project's quality approach from planning through close-out. You will implement a project-specific Quality Management System, oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, and help ensure that contractual, regulatory and technical requirements are understood and met.
What You Will Do
• Be the quality leader on the project, guiding project team members and subcontractors in fulfilling their quality responsibilities.
• Act as a key bridge between the client, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and the project team on quality and technical matters.
• Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, submittals and other technical information to identify quality requirements, risks and upcoming priorities.
• Prepare, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan and related QA/QC processes.
• Develop and manage Inspection and Test Plans, checklists and inspection schedules aligned with the construction look-ahead.
• Plan and facilitate pre-installation and pre-activity meetings with the project team, subcontractors, and key suppliers.
• Oversee inspections, testing, material receipt and traceability, and confirm that third-party testing agencies meet project requirements.
• Manage observations, deficiencies, non-conformities and corrective actions in collaboration with site superintendents and subcontractors, including escalation of major quality issues.
• Monitor quality records and project Key Performance Indicators, identify trends and use the results to support continuous improvement.
• Support client and consultant audits, communicate quality issues clearly, and promote practical lessons learned across the project team.
• Lead quality close-out by confirming that records, as-built information, certificates, inspection and test reports, technical data and warranty information are complete, traceable and ready for handover.
This Role Could Be for You If You Have
• A bachelor's degree or technical diploma in engineering, architecture, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Approximately 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in construction and/or quality management on construction projects.
• Experience interpreting construction contracts, specifications, drawings, codes and standards.
• The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, anticipate project needs, and influence others.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a practical and transparent approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction quality documentation systems.
• Fluency in both official languages, written and spoken.
Additional Assets Include
• Experience on large-scale government or complex construction projects.
• Internal Quality Auditor ISO 9001 qualification.
• Knowledge of Lean Construction principles.
• Security Clearance Requirement:
Please note that this position requires candidates to be eligible to obtain and maintain a Level I (Reliability) Security Clearance.
