The compensation range for this position is
$40-45 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates must be available to travel to California for a one-week training program. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the company.
Responsibilities- Incoming inspection from external providers of products or services/processing
- (e.g., nickel plating)
- FAI, PO, COC and process certification documents
- In-process and/or final inspection of critical features, including witness inspection
- (e.g., CMM program run)
- Compilation of final inspection sign-off sheet or inspection package
- Verification that the inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of
- detecting defects.
- Verification that the inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent.
- Review and validation of justification for any part not inspected at final inspection.
- Assure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing, and of acceptable contour
- and waviness.
- Assured products are of good workmanship and within specified workmanship
- standards (e.g., oil canning, riding conditions, loose fasteners, drill starts,
- scratches, dings, burrs, fastener edge distance, etc.)
- Verifying all visible part finishes, paint, and skin quality are acceptable to the
- required visual standards.
- Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object
- debris.
- Verify safety wire has been applied in a negative pull orientation, the correct number
- of turns, and pigtails are tucked in according to specification requirements.
- Verify fasteners are properly installed; assure the torque stripe is continuous from
- the head to the surface and of the correct color
Skills and Qualifications- 3+ years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical parts inspection.
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity
- standards.
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005") using hand tools
- (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
- Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
- Must be ITAR compliant.
$40 - $45 an hour
Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.70 per mile driven). Untaxed.
