ABOUT THE ROLE This role is responsible for providing assistance required to revamp and improve our quality system, productivity and standard cost problems in the manufacturing process throughout the plant. In addition, this role will develop and optimize processes using RCA, CARs, Document Control System, Six Sigma & Lean techniques and participate in manufacturing improvement initiatives. The incumbent is responsible of being a leader for the daily handling of the quality system in the manufacturing areas, coordinate and execution of testing, experiments, data organization / analysis, and report generation.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTOverall the Quality Department consists of 1 Supervisor and 6 Quality Inspectors/Auditors. The Quality department assists the Embroidery room, East side, West side and Returns in the distribution center. Inside the embroidery room we oversee the Quality system, working as partners with the multidisciplinary areas to build an effective system and to be able to reduce customer complaints and Scrap rate. Outside the manufacturing areas we take care of any containments for supplier issues and inline inspections to make sure our systems are working according to our Quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Test components and finished products to ensure all specifications are met
- Evaluate and assist in improvement throughout the manufacturing plant
- Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system (RCA, CARs etc)
- Identify improvement opportunities related to current processes and systems
- Participate in critical quality initiatives to include capability, quality, and throughput improvements
- Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) - Strong competency with Microsoft Works programs including Excel, Word and Access
- Excellent process identification, evaluation, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and rapidly adapt and respond to priority changes based on business needs
- Work extended hours and travel in critical situations
- Ability to lead and direct a small group of employees on large scale projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Associate's Degree in Engineering, Statistics, or related technical fields; or 4+ years related experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt certifications preferred
