Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring manufacturing operations and suppliers consistently meet or exceed customer, quality, and food safety expectations. This role provides quality engineering leadership through the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of quality systems, while leading root cause investigations to reduce customer complaints and drive sustainable improvements.

  • Lead investigations into quality issues and customer complaints using root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Drive complaint-related corrective actions and communicate outcomes to internal stakeholders and customers as appropriate.
  • Analyze quality and test data using statistical methods to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct internal audits and implement quality system improvements.
  • Collaborate with Quality teams across multiple facilities to ensure consistent quality practices.
  • Ensure compliance with GFSI standards, prerequisite programs, and GMP requirements, and promptly escalate food safety concerns.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including specification development, supplier qualification, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

We need you to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or related role
  • Proficiency with quality tools such as corrective action, root cause analysis, and FMEA
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills; Minitab experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of BRCGS or other GFSI food safety standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

  • Advanced degree a plus
  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification preferred
