Your Role in Synergy's Success

The Account Manager is a field‑based commercial role responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of small to mid‑sized customer accounts (Tier 2–3). This role drives in‑person customer engagement, qualifies and advances projects, grows existing business, and supports early-stage pipeline development. The AM serves as the primary customer-facing contact for day‑to‑day needs while building capabilities toward enterprise-level selling

How You Will Contribute

This role will cover our upper Northwest Territory: WA, OR, Northern CA, ID, and Nevada.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a defined portfolio of small to medium sized accounts with consistent in person customer visits.
  • Build strong relationships across customer functions including R&D, procurement, and innovation teams.
  • Drive sales growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing customer engagement.
  • Deliver introductory and mid-stage commercial presentations and product value propositions.
  • Qualify new opportunities and coordinate project briefs with R&D and Applications teams.
  • Support price discussions within established guardrails
  • Maintain CRM discipline including opportunity management, call reports, and revenue forecasting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project advancement and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in customer problem-solving and escalation support as needed.
  • Attend trainings, industry events, and customer meetings with approximately 50%-60% travel.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an area of discipline preferred in marketing, biology, chemistry or food science
  • Five plus years of flavor ingredient sales experience calling on major food and beverage companies
  • Proven ability to sell ingredients to multiple buying influences
  • Significant understanding of, and contacts in, food and beverage markets and awareness of market and product trends
  • Must be able to establish priorities and determine validity of assignments and project work for potential new business
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary Range: $104,000.00 - 140,500.00


The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
