Full Job Description
Hexcel is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location.

A successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring products and processes meet stringent regulatory, customer, and industry quality standards. They develop and maintain quality procedures aligned with AS9100 requirements, support NADCAP special process compliance (e.g., heat treat, composites, NDT), and drive root cause and corrective action efforts for nonconformances. The role includes conducting audits, analyzing process data, leading risk assessments, and partnering with operations to implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability, traceability, and process capability while maintaining strict adherence to aerospace quality and safety requirements.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Review specifications, both customer and internal.
  • Investigate quality non-conformances, recommend and/or implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze quality data and prepare periodic quality reports for management
  • Coordinate cross functional team corrective action
  • Perform factory process audits. Evaluate internal and external audit findings for root cause and corrective action.
  • Interface with customers to ensure compliance with customer requirements as relates to quality systems.
  • Develop programs that assist manufacturing in consistent quality improvement effort.
  • Assist with performance of customer audits and assist customers with on-site audits.
  • Perform supplier audits and assist in flow-down of requirements and quality system to suppliers.
  • Supports and engages in the Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 14001 to ensure environmental compliance, continual improvement, and cost containment. Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment. Actively support and interact in monthly and/or plant refresher safety training using available resources and prescribed goals to determine and subsequently help eliminate actual and potential safety issues, unsafe acts and/or conditions to preclude accidents, to keep Hexcel employees safe, and to achieve the Department/Plant and/or Corporate Safety goals and objectives. Always operate in compliance with the Hexcel Casa Grande Quality System and Quality Policy. Comply with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering, preferably within quality and manufacturing. Experience with composite materials and lean manufacturing is a plus.
  • Adept in the use of problem-solving tools such as; 9P, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram
  • Comfortable presenting data to customers and to all levels within the organization.
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods / SPC as well as AS9100, ISO 9001 and/or Nadcap standards.
  • Preferred experience: aerospace manufacturing, AS 9100/ISO 9001 auditor certification, CQE certification, Six Sigma certification, and familiarity with determining Human Factors
