Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in a science or technical field preferred.
• 3+ years of laboratory experience, including 1+ years of calibration certification or experience.
• Familiarity with ASTM and ISO test methods strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; LIMS experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with basic math proficiency.
• Effective communication skills for presentations and routine documentation.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise, train, and assign work to laboratory technicians.
• Enforce company policies and address team concerns effectively.
• Communicate production updates and equipment status with cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork and develop employees through recognition and training.
• Meet production, safety, and quality goals while holding teams accountable.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Support safety programs through hazard analyses and accident investigations.
• Ensure timely lab delivery by optimizing efficiencies and cross-training staff.
• Assess new hires during onboarding to ensure proper training and skill development.
• Approve timecards and manage attendance using timekeeping systems.
