Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve the site's AS9100-certified Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using proven methodologies

Full Job Description
Our team is looking for a Quality Director to join them. You will report to the General Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, North Carolina.

The Quality Director is responsible for leading the site's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring compliance with all applicable aerospace, aviation, defense, customer, and regulatory requirements. This position provides strategic leadership for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, Regulatory Compliance, and Continuous Improvement. As the site's senior quality leader, you will partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, and customers to foster a culture of quality, compliance, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.

To be considered for the Quality Director opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within aerospace, aviation, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior quality management or director-level leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading and improving AS9100 Rev D certified Quality Management Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, FAA regulations, customer flow-down requirements, and aerospace quality standards.
  • Experience leading internal, supplier, customer, regulatory, and third-party certification audits.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, RCCA, 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP methodologies.
  • Experience managing supplier quality, customer quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English speaking.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as business needs require.


As a Quality Director, you will:
  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the site's AS9100-certified Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA regulations, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Develop quality strategies, KPIs, and executive reporting that align with business objectives and customer expectations.
  • Serve as the site's quality authority and management representative for quality system effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead all internal, supplier, customer, regulatory, and certification audits while maintaining continuous audit readiness.
  • Drive effective root cause analysis and corrective action processes using methodologies including 8D, RCCA, 5 Whys, and FMEA.
  • Partner with customers to manage quality performance, customer audits, corrective actions, and flow-down requirements.
  • Develop and oversee supplier quality programs, supplier audits, SCARs, qualification, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Direct inspection, testing, calibration, metrology, First Article Inspection (AS9102), SPC, MSA, and nonconforming material processes.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, rework, COPQ, customer escapes, and supplier defects.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Quality Managers, Engineers, Auditors, Inspectors, and Technicians while promoting accountability and a culture of quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, and executive leadership to support operational excellence and business growth.
