Summary
The Quality Manager at GeoStabilization International is responsible for leading the QA/QC department, setting the strategic direction for quality across all projects, and managing a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, oversees non-conformance resolution, represents the company during audits, and ensures quality outcomes are consistent and continuously improving.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the structure, staffing, and daily operations of the QA/QC department, including leadership of various quality roles.
  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular reviews to develop a high-performing quality team.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop quality personnel, addressing skill gaps with training programs.
  • Maintain and improve GSI's quality management systems, ensuring alignment with industry and client-specific requirements.
  • Oversee the non-conformance report program, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and verified.
  • Lead internal quality audits and act as the primary contact during external client and regulatory audits.
  • Provide senior quality oversight across projects, monitoring metrics and escalating risks as needed.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to integrate quality requirements into project planning and execution.
  • Review project designs and specifications for quality and constructability considerations.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-8 years of progressive quality assurance/control experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience building and managing a quality team across multiple projects.
  • Deep knowledge of geotechnical or heavy civil construction quality standards (ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, PTI).
  • Experience managing NCR programs and internal audit processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with project documentation and quality management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in geohazard mitigation or related construction fields.
  • Familiarity with ACI Shotcrete certification programs.
  • CQM-C certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in delivering quality training programs.
  • Knowledge of UAS for site inspection and documentation.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to maneuver on uneven and sloped terrain during site visits.
  • Work in a combination of office and outdoor environments; exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels typical of construction sites; hearing protection may be required.
  • Travel required (approximately 40-50%), including possible travel to Canada. Must live near a major airport.


US pay range for this role.

$109,000-$135,000 USD
