Job Description
The Quality Engineer / Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the Quality Control team while ensuring components meet requirements, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines daily supervision of QC personnel with active involvement in inspections, measurements, data analysis, recordkeeping, and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Quality Control Technicians, providing daily leadership and oversight of executing department activities and priorities.
- Establish and maintain inspection, testing, and measurement standards for raw materials and components.
- Perform and oversee hands-on inspections, measurements, and quality evaluations using precision measurement equipment.
- Participate in root cause investigations, statistical process control (SPC) activities, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to resolve quality issues.
- Analyze quality data, generate reports, and drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects and improve product performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and quality management systems, including ISO standards.
- Manage calibration programs and ensure inspection and test equipment remain accurate and compliant.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to improve product quality, manufacturing processes, and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor QC Technicians on proper measurement methods and techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline.
- 4+ years of quality engineering or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, root cause analysis, SPC, CAPA, and inspection methodologies.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and measurement requirements.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be US Citizen or PERM Resident
- Must be able to lift 25lbs unassisted
Salary Range:
$77,900.00-$103,800.000
