About the Role

Health Advocate is seeking an experienced Software QA Manager (Automation) to lead our Quality Assurance organization and drive excellence across software testing, automation, and quality engineering practices. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage distributed QA teams, champion automation initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high-quality enterprise applications.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in test automation, Agile delivery methodologies, CI/CD integration, and quality management while effectively leading both onshore and offshore testing teams across multiple concurrent projects.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, mentor, and develop geographically distributed QA teams, including onshore and offshore resources.
  • Establish and execute QA strategies, standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities across multiple enterprise software projects.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, and Business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage test planning, resource allocation, effort estimation, and release readiness activities.
  • Promote automation-first testing practices and continuous process improvement.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics, including automation coverage, defect leakage, release quality, and execution trends.
  • Ensure automated testing is integrated into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and offshore delivery performance.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and career development opportunities for QA team members.
  • Evaluate emerging testing technologies, including AI-assisted testing solutions, to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Test Automation: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium
  • Programming: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • API Testing: Postman, REST Assured, Karate
  • Performance Testing: JMeter or LoadRunner
  • CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
  • Test Management Platforms: Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr
  • Version Control: Git
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Databases: SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale, complex enterprise initiatives.
  • Experience implementing or leveraging AI-assisted testing solutions.
  • Knowledge of microservices, cloud-native applications, and containerized environments.
  • Experience with security, performance, and accessibility testing.
  • ISTQB, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certifications.
