Job Description: 

Are you the person we're looking for?

Are you interested in working with dedicated team that is at the core of everything we do? We are looking for a Systems Software Developer to work with some of our newest and largest customers. You will use your technical (investigation, debugging, programming) and soft (collaboration, communication) skills to support QNX customers who are new and seasoned users of QNX products (Hypervisor, Safety products, Containers, Acoustics, etc ). If you embrace problem solving, multi-tasking, and continuous learning, and are seeking an opportunity to grow with an industry leader, this role is for you.

Here's the key things you will be working on:

  • Support customer activities through direct interaction with customer engineering
  • Manage a large case load with a focus on using your investigation and debugging skills to resolve issues to the satisfaction of our customers 
  • Work alongside QNX engineers and experts to isolate, reproduce, and resolve customer issues
  • Write code to reproduce issues and illustrate product usage
  • Continuous learning to support the full suite of QNX products
  • Identify and take action on opportunities to improve customer experience and team effectiveness/efficiency

You will have:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering (or another related field)
  • Strong C programming skills
  • Hands on experience of system programming in embedded systems (such as board bring up, drivers, network/USB/Filesystem stack, kernel etc.)
  • Hands on development experience using embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Previous customer facing experience would be an asset
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation skills, including the ability to identify and analyze technical problems
  • Proven ability to take care of matters with a degree of diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality
  • Passion and a desire to learn about new technologies

It will be great if you have:

  • Evidence of experience with QNX
  • Familiarity with IDEs (Eclipse-based, VSCode)
  • Familiarity with IPC and Linux Programming
  • Knowledge of GCC and GDB

Compensation Hiring Base Salary Range:

$90,000.00 - $126,000.00

 

Please be advised that the compensation hiring range indicated herein is provided solely as a good-faith estimate of expected base compensation for the position. The actual compensation offered will be determined at the time of hire and is contingent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and results of assessments conducted during the hiring process.
