Position SummaryManages purchased transportation providers and dispatch operations. Implements process improvements to optimize logistics performance and operational efficiency.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities- Manages dispatch coverage for purchased transportation operations and conducts performance evaluations.
- Oversees communication between purchased transportation carriers, linehaul operations, and internal customers.
- Develops and implements staffing plans to ensure adequate managerial and departmental coverage.
- Responds to service-related needs from customers and partners with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Leads performance monitoring for carriers across key metrics, including loading, departures, arrivals, toll management, trailer pools, payment delays, and service disruptions.
- Serves as a point of contact for cross-functional inquiries and ensures timely and accurate information flow across departments.
- Trains and coaches terminal personnel and dispatchers on best practices, policies, and service standards.
- Audits operational workflows and enforces compliance with established policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of transportation management or planning experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, dispatch software, and transportation management applications.
Salary Range: $95,500.00 - $119,800.00 annually, based on experience. This position is bonus eligible.
