Full Job Description
We are seeking aProtection & ControlDesigner with technical experience inthe design of HVsubstationsfor power utilitiesandfor the interconnection of renewables and data centers. In this roleyouwillsupport thedelivery ofsubstationdetaileddesignprojectsfrom the conceptual phase through design completionfor electric utilities,contractorsand developers. You will be the technical interface with clientsand internal team members.

This position can be worked out of ourNew York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Boston or Chicago offices.

The Opportunity:
  • Performthe engineering design, technical strategy, and delivery of HVand EHVsubstationprojectsfor power utilities and for the interconnection of renewables and data centers.
  • PreparesubstationP&Cdesign packagesincludingsingle-line diagrams,protection and control schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications,control houselayout,cableschedules,relay panel front and rear layout,cable traylayoutandbills of materialsto quality,timeand budget requirements.
  • Support insubstation studies and calculationsincludingAC auxiliary system sizing, battery sizingandvoltage drop.
  • Provide construction support and inter-disciplinary coordination.

  • Excellent communication skills - able to interact with clients, regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability torepresentthe company credibly.
  • Ability to learn and effectivelyutilizenew designsoftware programs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools - MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
  • The ability to prioritize work effectively, manage deadlines and organization skillsrequiredfor our rapidly changing environment.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $107,100 to $127,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
