Responsibilities

The Prospective Pay Systems Coordinator (PPS) Coordinates, assesses, monitors, and evaluates the IRF-PAI (Inpatient Rehab Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument) process, which determines a patient27s RIC (Rehab Impairment Category), CMG (Case Mix Group) and payment under the rehabilitation Prospective Payment System and the outcome measurements. Functions as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team. Is knowledgeable and stays abreast of Medicare regulations affecting the Inpatient rehabilitation facility so appropriate reimbursement can be realized. Educates and ensures staff is certified in accurate FIM assessment. Audits charts to ensure competency with reimbursement guidelines. Educates physicians on admission criteria and clinical documentation to support admission and reimbursement. Evaluates and works to improve outcome measurements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology.2. Current state license as a Registered Nurse, Physical therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Speech Pathologist.3. 3 years of experience in the rehab area.4. BLS Course from the American Heart Association (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
