Full Job Description
Description Great proposals are essential to our success, so we are looking for an experienced strategist to join our North Texas region team who will bring outstanding creative, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support our pursuit teams as they navigate challenging requirements and overlapping schedules. The Proposal Strategist is responsible for developing the proposal plan; the Request For Proposal (RFP) release and the process including end game, and checkmate for assigned business development proposals to win work for the company. This position will conduct proposal development efforts in collaboration with marketing, pursuit and project management leadership to develop distinctive value propositions, quality statement of qualifications, proposals, capacity statements and marketing materials that enhance our clients' competitive positions.
  • Develop proposal plan, draft storyboards, develop proposal and win strategy, proposal team assignments and initial proposal management plan.
  • Perform pink team review and adjust marketing materials in response to review and requests.
  • Conduct review of the go/no-go decision, official proposal kickoff meeting and the development of graphics and visuals.
  • Perform post-submittal activities including interview in the checkmate phase.
  • Develop a negotiated contract outline and deliver proposal services per the checkmate phase.
  • Support the development of metrics including change orders, safety, budget, schedule, diversity goals and community involvement activities.
  • Assist with the closing of the project deliverables.
  • Assist with the submittal for industry awards (ACEC, ENR) local trade or national trade publications.
  • Attends professional associations, conferences and build professional network and trade shows. Set up and prepare the booth.
  • Work collaboratively with project management, technical and proposal teams to support and manage the development of marketing and pursuit materials under tight deadlines.
  • Write and edit proposal content and participate in proposal reviews to confirm materials stay on message, meet client requirements and adhere to firmwide style and branding guidelines.
  • Schedule and facilitate technical solutioning sessions and shortlist interview prep meetings as needed.
  • Lead the development of graphics, including organizational charts, infographics and presentations with visuals that support strategic messaging.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute client events, tradeshows and conferences, working closely with internal business development professionals and external vendors.
  • Lead data management activities, including maintaining up-to-date project descriptions, knowledge management systems, content libraries and CRM entries.
  • Support internal and external communications.
  • Plan and execute internal and external events and experiences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field. and 4 years in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm. Experience at an A/E firm preferred required.
  • Or applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement required.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign strongly preferred.
  • Certified Proposal Management Professional -APMP preferred or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Shipley practice model preferred.
  • Experience with transportation procurement submittals preferred.
  • Superior communication skills: technical writing, creative writing, proofreading and editing preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail, organization and time management preferred.
