The Proposal Manager is responsible for leading marketing and pursuit activities while supporting communications needs of the Pacific Northwest Graham Buildings team. This includes: leading pursuit planning and developing proposals that help us stand out from the competition; assisting with monitoring and identifying new business opportunities; helping guide marketing strategies to position our team for future growth; and supporting internal and external communications and brand visibility. This position is based out of our office in Seattle, WA.
Proposal Development:
- Lead proposal efforts from start to finish, including but not limited to leading a kick-off meeting, storyboarding, managing pursuit team tasks, writing and editing content, and production.
- Support the Business Unit leaders and Business Development team with identifying strategic opportunities and developing creative proposals, presentations, and other business development materials to win work
- Develop qualifications packages, RFQ and RFP responses, interview presentations, and follow-up materials.
- Help prepare interview teams for client presentations.
- Collaborate with Marketing Manager and the Northern California marketing team to develop standard templates and cohesive messaging
- Maintain marketing library and project information databases.
Marketing:
- Assist with developing content, including case studies, project write-ups, and client testimonials to support ongoing development of the marketing library.
- Develop strategic marketing collateral pieces, including brochures, presentations and Executive Summaries, to support client outreach.
- Work with Business Units, Communications and Business Development teams to support campaign initiatives as required.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of industry trends and project opportunities.
- Develop a knowledge of the local marketplace and our position in it.
- Assist with competitor analysis, selection panel profiling, and client research as needed.
- Participate in local events and industry organizations.
- Inform on opportunities for cross collaboration initiatives with other regions or the Communications team
Knowledge and Training:
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing in the AEC industry
- Experience supporting marketing pursuits and strong portfolio of proposals
- Experience with public sector and higher education proposals a plus
- Strong graphic skills with fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe InDesign required
- Proficiency with Word, Excel Power Point and other office tools
- Acumen with using a CRM, ideally Cosential, Oracle, Deltek, or similar
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail
- Strong graphic design capabilities, particularly in utilizing Adobe Creative Suite. Canva experience a plus.
- Understanding of the business of the AEC industry and marketing's role in that business
- Ability to speak and write clearly, ability to work with all levels of seniority of colleagues
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing multiple demands and competing deadlines
- Team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in to help get the work done
