Job Description

The Project Team Leader is responsible for leading a cross-functional project team across engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, finance, and purchasing. This role manages project execution to support customer requirements, internal milestones, budget targets, quality expectations, profitability objectives, and launch readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver customer and internal project milestones.
  • Manage customer and project requirements, timing, priorities, risks, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, finance, purchasing, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project costs, budget adherence, capital requirements, tooling needs, and profitability targets.
  • Support development quality processes and drive completion of required quality gates.
  • Coordinate technical work assignments for matrixed research and development project team members.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to support industrialization plans, quality controls, safe launch readiness, and customer milestone achievement.
  • Manage multiple projects across vehicle platforms while balancing priorities, timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate cross-regional project topics and stakeholders to support customer center strategy and project objectives.
  • Work with directed and tiered suppliers to support co-development activities and product application across supplier locations.
  • Lead resolution of project-related quality issues and support warranty reduction activities within the assigned product scope.
  • Prepare and present project status updates to customers and senior management as required.
  • Support project acquisition activities and launch support planning as needed.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in automotive, electronics, manufacturing, mobility, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience supporting automotive electronics, embedded systems, vehicle systems, or related product development environments.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or comparable project planning and scheduling tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage project milestones, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience in a product development, manufacturing, or automotive supplier environment.
  • Experience supporting General Motors or other major automotive OEM customer programs.
  • Business knowledge in finance, cost management, budgeting, or profitability tracking.
  • Experience with vehicle homologation processes.
  • Manufacturing knowledge in an automotive supplier or OEM environment.
  • Demonstrated project risk assessment and mitigation experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Training or certification in Design for Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Agile, or related continuous improvement/project development methodologies.
