Project Scheduler/Project Controls Specialist (Primavera P6)

Summary:
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for providing project controls for transmission capital project teams, primarily using Primavera P6 schedule software to create, maintain, monitor and analyze resource and cost loaded capital project schedules and to develop risk mitigation action plans to correct negative trends in the schedule.

A typical starting range for this position is $85,000 - $117,000 + annually. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinates with project managers to prepare, develop and maintain detailed cost and resource loaded project schedules for transmission and substation projects.
• Creates project plans with multiple/complex interdependencies as the baseline schedule.
• Administrates Primavera P6 tool for transmission's use in coordination with the Enterprise Project Management Core Team and manages the data housed within Primavera P6.
• Develops project control processes/procedures/methodology.
• Guides/directs/trains transmission users on project planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting.
• Participates in regular project meetings to troubleshoots project schedule, budget, cost issues and determines a course of action to right the project plan. Acts on project schedule deviations from minor to major risks.
• Analyzes schedule and cost data via audits, reports, and critical thinking to improve project performance.
• Develops reporting for various stakeholders including users, managers, and senior management.
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education to include project scheduling curriculum that could be gained through a certification program and/or degree program required.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business or related field is strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of project scheduling and controls experience, along with demonstrated ability to coordinate teams of project professionals required.
• 8+ years of project scheduling and controls experience or related experience strongly preferred.
• A combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
• Strong preference for experience with Primavera P6 scheduling and administration, and utility construction techniques.
• Microsoft Office Suite required with Excel; Power BI strongly preferred.
• Informal and/or formal leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of project schedule risk mitigation techniques.
• Advanced skill in using project scheduling software. Skill specifically in Primavera P6 strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in project scheduling and controls processes, tools and techniques.
• Ability to perform critical path analysis of project schedules and propose changes to keep projects on track.
• Ability to analyze and monitor the performance of multiple and varied projects concurrently.
• Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with business partners.
