Full Job Description
Project Safety Manager is responsible for the oversight of safety for our Manchester NH site. The individual in this position will work with the project team to proactively plan safety in the day-to-day operations and tasks. This position reports to the Safety Director. This is a full-time, salaried-exempt position.

Your Role
  • Responsible for proactively collaborating with the project team to develop, promote, and sustain a positive safety culture
  • Provide oversight and direction to all direct reports
  • Apply knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and procedures
  • Inspect, correct, and provide education on safety deficiencies as they occur
  • Identify and correct problems before they become hazards and report results to designated company representatives
  • Apply federal and state-specific health and safety regulations and interpret and apply these regulations
  • Ensure that Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and others are abreast of all OSHA regulations and the consequences of violating these regulations
  • Verify that subcontractors are adhering to the Site Safety Management Plan, OSHA, and all other regulations
  • Ensure familiarity with Hazardous Communications, Confined Space, Air Monitoring, Job Safety Analysis and Health and Safety Plans
  • Train employees on health and safety related policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail, empathy, and professionalism
  • Build and maintain effective relationships
  • Maintain OSHA 30 for Construction
  • Work independently and use sound judgment capability and discretion with confidential information

Your Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related discipline preferred
  • 1-3 years of construction safety experience
  • Maintain certification in First Aid/CPR, and OSHA 10, 30
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Procore, and Power BI

Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • This role requires the ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions, along with the ability to navigate and work in a variety of settings
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
  • Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
  • Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
  • Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • This role must maintain safety procedures at all times to avoid injury
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Able to function in a standard office setting

Travel

Job posting location does not guarantee that the position will be in that location; Methuen Construction has jobs throughout New England, and travel may be required, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Company per diem policy will apply.
