Research IT is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and move forward a high volume of active projects in a busy, fast-paced department. This role keeps projects organized and on track - managing timelines, coordinating the people involved, tracking progress and billing, and making sure work flows smoothly from intake to completion. It is well suited to an organized, self-directed professional who can step in quickly and bring structure to competing priorities.
The incumbent will be responsible for higher-level tasks related to the maintenance and development of University computing systems, networks, services and resources. Tasks could include, but are not limited to in-depth analysis of systems, Implementation of new systems, serving in project manager roles, and evaluating and determining standards for hardware.
Essential functions of the position include:
• Manage projects end to end. Plan, organize, and track research IT projects from intake through delivery, keeping scope, timelines, and deliverables clear and current.
• Coordinate stakeholders. Serve as the central point of contact among study teams, IT staff, and external partners; schedule and facilitate meetings and keep everyone aligned.
• Prioritize competing work. Triage incoming requests and active projects in coordination with the PM team, set realistic priorities, and keep multiple efforts moving at once without losing track of details.
• Track progress and report status. Monitor milestones, maintain project documentation and trackers, and provide clear, regular status updates to the PM and Research IT team and leadership.
• Manage risks and issues. Identify delays, bottlenecks, and risks early; resolve what you can and escalate what you can't.
• Support project billing and resources. Coordinate project cost estimates, quotes, and billing information, and help ensure projects stay within scope and budget.
