OverviewAs Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and validating proposals, scope, financial oversight, and key project deliverables related to T&D design projects. Responsible for Coordinating and resource loading of field engineering, design, and other project personnel. Works with internal management team to secure, manage, and deliver project related documentation of new and existing clients.
Responsibilities
- Manages scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects.
- Works with matrixed team to delegate work and assign tasks and deliverables efficiently.
- Provides clear understanding and direction of next steps to design and management team.
- Monitors Key Performance Indicators, critical path items, and schedule.
- Manages proposal, estimates, deliverables, invoice preparation, and other related project documentation.
- Provides project analysis and metrics for individual projects.
- Review, approve and administer contracts for pipeline projects, engineering design, field engineering, and other design and pre-construction activities.
- Manage Scope change and create appropriate documentation for change orders.
- Coordinate design and financial reviews necessary for project deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation and updating of budget and resource managing projections.
- Review and approve designs submittals, cost estimates, and justifications for change orders and other project work requests.
- Primary point of contact for internal peers
- Primary point of contact for client’s work groups
- Communicate project status to appropriate stakeholders and departments.
- Represent NV5 in meetings involving customers, field personnel, and other related stakeholders.
- Continuously develop and maintain strong working relationships and routinely liaison with clients, NV5 departments, customers, other utilities, municipal agencies, and other related organizations.
- Continuously build and maintain a network of third-party consultants and vendors.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the T&D client and industry standards related to design and construction.
- Demonstrate abilities to negotiate solutions to client concerns or project overages.
- Project related travel may be required.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong Microsoft Office, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Time Management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate project scope, objectives, and project feedback to team members.
- Project Managing Professional Certification (PMP)
- Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
- Experience in managing a team of 2-5 stakeholders.
- 5+ years of Project Engineering/Manager experience related to T&D projects
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in public utility design and construction, natural gas pipelines, water/sewer infrastructure, or electric distribution overhead and underground infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Construction Management, or relevant field, or equivalent training and experience.
- Experience in public utility design and construction, as well as experience with business management.
