Full Job Description
Join our Houston gas turbine repair facility as a Project Manager, leading assigned projects from commercial handoff through closeout. You'll partner with customers and shop operations to keep work on schedule, protect margins, and deliver accurate project updates and forecasts. Qualified candidates bring at least five years of relevant experience, including two years in project management, plus knowledge of high-speed turbomachinery and fabrication, manufacturing, or repair. A related degree and PMP or similar certification are preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for the customer or internal Regional Project Manager. Provide timely updates and ensure all technical and commercial requirements align with the customer's Critical to Quality (CTQ) expectations.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage required contract deliverables, including project plans, schedules, status and inspection reports, final reports, notices, invoices, Change Order Requests (CORs), and Management of Change (MOC) documentation.
  • Update Salesforce Project Scorecards weekly with current project financials, dates, and status.
  • Identify out-of-scope customer requests, coordinate resolutions with the project team, and secure customer approval and additional purchase order coverage when required.
  • Engage senior management as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track actual project costs against planned costs and report project margins.
  • Attend production meetings, monitor progress against due dates, and proactively address and communicate schedule changes that may affect customer delivery.
  • Communicate project requirements to Production and help establish shop priorities.
  • Initiate milestone- or percentage-of-completion (POC) invoicing and help resolve payment issues.
  • Partner with facility leadership to balance shop capabilities, capacity, delivery commitments, and project management expectations.
  • Advocate for the customer by driving shop performance and maintaining the project schedule.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; Epicor preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for creating, updating, and maintaining schedules.

Experience

  • Knowledge of high-speed turbomachinery and experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or repair. Relevant work may include gas turbines and other rotating equipment used in power generation, oil and gas, and pulp and paper facilities.
  • At least five years of relevant experience, including two years in project management.
  • Experience managing contract scopes and objectives and translating them into efficient project execution.
  • Proven ability to resolve project conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to motivate internal and external project teams and build collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Proven success in achieving goals, balancing strategic and tactical priorities, and driving solutions within a matrix organization.

Education Requirements

  • A BSME or BA with 5-6 years of related experience is preferred. Non-degreed candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Recognized and accredited professional project management training and certification, PMI, PMP, or equivalent is a nice to have but not a requirement.

  • Must be able to move about shop and use standard office equipment
