Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Project Manager of Store Planning and Construction is responsible for the planning and construction of Ferragamo stores in North America, including, but not limited to, Flagships, Outlet, Wholesale and Shop-in-Shop.

The Project Manager works closely with corporate HQ in Italy and regional teams to ensure the correct development of all project aspects, with direct control and responsibility of Schedules, Budgets, Cost Reporting, Procurement, Logistic and Management of field construction throughout the entire process until the store handover. The role is also responsible to establish "best practices" to achieve the highest design quality, while working within approved budgets and prescribed schedules.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all architectural and construction activities involved with the renovation or creation of new stores, full price, outlet and wholesale. Oversee technical work, time, cost & quality control from inception to completion.


  • Partner with the Legal and Real Estate Team to validate new project locations. Review LOI and advise on leasing construction provisions, estimated capex investments and timelines.


  • Prepare project schedules and budgets and ensure that project and department milestones/goals are met.


  • Establish contact with Landlord's Team to obtain drawings, timing, guidelines, and all other necessary start up information.


  • Prepare Project Brief and partner with HQ in Italy to prepare lay-outs and design documentation. Organize internal presentations and review with all corporate teams involved (Retail, Wholesale, Finance, Admin, Visual Merchandising, Logistics, IT, Asset Protection, Facilities).


  • Review Consultants, architectural and contractor's drawings to ensure consistency with project and concept, from preliminary submission through shop drawings.


  • Manage Project Administration, Vendors' orders, invoices logs, payments tracking.


  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain updated budget and schedules per company standards. Present to Finance and company Executives progress spending and cash flow of each project in monthly meetings. Prepare and update master project schedule providing a snapshot of all projects in development.


  • Procurement: Source and organize bidding for General Contractors, Millwork and Consultants. Prepare tender documents, offers, and coordinate works assignment. Organize bidding and award of all vendors, supervise activities, deliverables, and outcomes.


  • Visit construction sites to ensure quality of construction and millwork installation, coordinating all Vendors, identifying outstanding issues, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.


  • Manage store handover and project close out, collecting Certificate of Occupancy, as-built drawings & manuals, final lien waiver etc. Finalize financial account closures, address warranty repairs if needed.


  • Collect documents for Tenant Allowances collection in coordination with the Real Estate Team.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience, luxury retail preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
  • Languages: English, knowledge of Italian is a plus.
  • Software: proficiency in MS Office, Project, AutoCAD.
  • Strong field experience and knowledge of millwork details and installation means and methods.

  • Understanding of key lease documents and Landlord Work Letter exhibits.
  • Knowledge of LEED processes and certifications.
  • Ability to travel 25% - 50% of time, both domestic and international.


  • Passion for the Brand, architecture, fashion and luxury retail design.


  • Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proven track record of driving (budget and schedule) results within fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to mitigate project risks.
