Reports To: Director of Engineering

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the development, testing, field trials, and commercialization of Scout Surface Solutions LLC ("Scout") technologies and equipment, with a focus on computer-controlled valve actuation. This position utilizes skills, knowledge, and experience to support Scout's Director of Engineering and Business Development with specific tasks, projects, and initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage relationships and communications with Scout's technology development partners.
  • Ensure products being developed are fit for Scout's intended applications and purposes.
  • Help mobilize Scout's resources and expertise to resolve and optimize design issues as needed.
  • Manage all aspects of product testing and field trials in coordination with Scout's technology partners and personnel, including:
    • Establishing criteria for testing and field trials.
    • Writing operational and installation procedures.
    • Writing post-job inspection procedures.
    • Reporting on and monitoring equipment performance.
  • Work with Scout's technology partners to optimize product design, supply chain, and costs.
  • Develop plans for the sale and/or rental of new and existing products and identify relevant target customers.
  • Prepare sales and marketing materials for Scout products.
  • Visit and build relationships with target customers.
  • Train staff as necessary to deploy, inspect, and maintain Scout products.
  • Develop budgets and financial targets for revenue, capital expenditures (CapEx), and costs. Once approved, maintain accountability for delivering against these plans.
  • Identify market opportunities to develop additional products and services and, in conjunction with other functions within Scout, develop plans to capture new business and customers.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to elevate Scout's performance and differentiate Scout in the marketplace.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to oilfield services.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to product management and inspection procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements, quality expectations, shipping schedules, and product quality details.
  • Ability to create financial reports and develop and maintain budgets.
  • Ability to plan and manage work efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks while maintaining strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness.
  • Ability to rely on experience and sound judgment to accomplish objectives.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work at a computer station.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, and pull.
  • Normal vision, with the use of corrective lenses or devices as needed.
