Job SummaryThe Project Manager for Operations is responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager by reviewing project specifications and ensuring critical projects are successfully planned and executed. This individual will inspect raw materials to ensure project specifications are met.
CompensationSalary Range $95,000 - $109,000 DOE
Responsibilities- Managing an assigned geographical sales area for Central Concrete Supply
- Review project specifications and manage mix submittals / revisions
- Coordinating and attending pre-construction meetings
- Provide job-site service and first-line technical support including quality control, safety, and environmental oversight
- Training and ongoing guidance of field technicians
- Coordinate work with other regional management personnel (i.e. Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Dispatch) in order to better serve the customer
- Manage key project elements, including correspondence, schedules, specifications, testing and statistical analysis of service and product performance
- Prepare and analyze reports (i.e. compressive strength, gradations, etc.) to determine how to optimize mix performance
- Handle and provide solutions for project problems and complaints
- Maintain equipment and calibrations for laboratory and field equipment
- Obtain and maintain all necessary ACI certifications
EducationHigh school diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications- 2-5 years of ready-mix experience, preferably in a construction materials environment
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must
- Ability to work varying work shifts with varying start and stop times; night work will be required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to multi-task; adept at quick problem-solving
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Current valid driver's license and insurable under CalPortland vehicle insurance
- Safe driving record (must provide a 39-month Motor Vehicle Report/DMV H-6 printout)
- Physical Requirements: climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, frequent lifting of extension chutes (up to 50 pounds), stretching, and driving/sitting
- Uses radio to communicate with company personnel
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (may be exposed to extremes of hot and/or cold)
- Subject to the CalPortland Drug and Alcohol Program
Preferred:Experience in a vertically integrated construction materials organization
Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
