Full Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Montreal or Pickering, Ontario. Reporting to the Director, Program Management, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a portfolio of managed projects, including complex and high-risk valve orders. In this role, you will lead assigned cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements and quality standards. You will also apply standardized project management processes and tools, including weekly project governance, project planning, issue and risk management, escalation processes, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning & oversee the execution of valve project through assigned cross-functional team
  • Establish a Project Charter for each approved project, defining the projects goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing
  • Ensures the integrated project plan is well aligned and sound; addresses project plan disconnects
  • Prepare first kickoff meeting and build cross-functional project team
  • Gets involved upfront in process of order commitment-making
  • Chairs Weekly Project Review
  • Assesses overall project health status
  • Initiates corrective/mitigation actions
  • Lead review of issues / risks
  • Ensure action plan is clear & sound
  • Escalate when required
  • Manage customer relationship and addresses escalated items related to the customer such as requirements clarity, deliverable and inspections attendance
  • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success
  • Plan all project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and micro-deliverables using ERP system
  • Conduct stakeholder meeting in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into projects plans
  • Closely monitor the efforts of SPOCs
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associate work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk
  • Conduct project post mortems in order to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings


Your profile

  • University degree in operations management, engineering or mechanical engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, including 3 years in project management, is required
  • Advanced knowledge of project management
  • PMP certification (an asset)
  • Experience in nuclear projects, nuclear power generation, or highly regulated industrial environments, including project management responsibilities
  • Manufacturing experience required, preferably in nuclear-grade equipment, valves, pressure-retaining components, or other safety-critical regulated products
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in French and English
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to assess the business climate, socio-economic factors, trends, and other criteria to determine the likelihood of a project's success
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to create and edit documents, materials, and project presentations
  • Ability to establish and maintain lasting relationships with operational units, company departments, key managers, and other stakeholders
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within deadlines
  • Passion for project management
