Introduction

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Market Area North and Central America Project Delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the execution of major customer contracts involving the design, retrofit, manufacturing, and installation of equipment and systems. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual commitments, contributing to customer success and profitable business growth.

You will report to the Project Delivery Manager.

This role is based in Canada, the United States, or Mexico, with flexible working options available. Relocation is not provided for this role.

This role includes approximately 20% travel to customer sites and project locations across North America and other international destinations.

You will join a team of experienced project delivery professionals focused on executing complex capital equipment and systems projects for customers in the mining and aggregates industries. Our team plays a key role in ensuring successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and the delivery of Metso's industry-leading solutions, with a shared focus on safety, quality, collaboration, and operational excellence.

We collaborate closely with customers, engineering teams, procurement specialists, manufacturing facilities, field service personnel, subcontractors, and business stakeholders. Our team is based across North and Central America, and our ways of working emphasize open and honest communication, customer focus, accountability, and getting things done together.

What you'll do

  • Lead the execution of major customer contracts from project kickoff through final closeout.
  • Establish project plans, budgets, schedules, and cash flow forecasts while monitoring performance and initiating corrective actions when required.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field execution activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and requisitions to ensure compliance with contract requirements and project objectives.
  • Resolve technical, commercial, client, subcontractor, and cross-functional project issues.
  • Participate in the selection and management of subcontractors and major equipment suppliers.
  • Manage field activities, staffing requirements, and site coordination while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Build trusted customer relationships, identify opportunities to address customer challenges, and support the delivery of value-added technical solutions.


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in industrial, engineering, manufacturing, construction, or capital equipment environments.
  • Experience with engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction contracts, scheduling, quality management, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial terms, and project execution methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish, SAP Project Module experience, and knowledge of engineering or regulatory standards such as CSA or NEMA are considered assets.
