Responsibilities

  • Adapt Metso crusher products to meet customer design needs in partnership with the Project Delivery Engineering team.
  • Produce required technical and manufacturing documentation for customer projects.
  • Evaluate customer specifications to determine design, lead time, and cost impacts.
  • Create essential engineering documentation for manufacturing and sourcing during project execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering partners to share project documentation needs.
  • Facilitate communication with internal departments on customer-specific product requirements.
  • Design efficient and cost-effective parts and solutions tailored for customer applications.
  • Address issues in drawings and procedural documentation, implementing corrective measures as needed.

Introduction

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Project Delivery team. In this role, you will ensure customer contract requirements are met in the most cost-effective, safe, and timely manner while producing manufacturing-oriented and technical documentation for customers. You will analyze customer specifications and assess impacts to standard deliveries related to design, lead time, and cost, contributing to the successful delivery of capital engineering projects and long-term customer satisfaction. You will report to the Project Delivery & Documentation Engineering Manager.

This role is based in Brookfield, WI, USA, with hybrid working options available.

Travel Requirements: approximatley 10%

You will join a team of Project Engineers focused on ensuring customers have the information they need to successfully set up and operate Metso equipment at their job sites. Our team plays a key role in delivering customer-focused engineering documentation and supporting project execution, with a shared focus on continuous improvement and supporting growing business demands in a critical industry. We collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders including mine site owners, engineering consulting companies, and local market area representatives. Our team is based in the United States, Brazil, India, Australia, and China, and our ways of working emphasize collaboration, open communication, and delivering the best solutions together.

What you'll do

  • Adapt Metso crusher products to conform to customer design requirements in collaboration with the Project Delivery Engineering team.
  • Produce manufacturing-oriented and technical documentation required for customer projects.

  • Create engineering documentation required for manufacturing and sourcing activities during project execution.
  • Share work with engineering partner teams to provide necessary project documentation.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding customer-specific product specifications and requirements.
  • Design parts and customized solutions that are economical, practical, and efficient for customer applications.
  • Resolve issues related to drawings and Bills of Material procedures and implement corrective actions when designs cannot meet original requirements.


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate's degree with preferred experience of 3 years.
  • Experience in mechanical design
  • Strong knowledge and experience with CAD software, including 3D and 2D modeling.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) / Product Data Management (PDM) systems; Teamcenter preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with proposal and commercial activities (nice to have).
  • Experience using AutoCAD and NX software (nice to have).
  • Experience with field services, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, electrical motor/starter applications, or automation systems (nice to have).
