Position Summary

The Integration Project Manager is responsible for leading all phases of acquisition and business integration projects, from due diligence through post-close integration execution. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of people, processes, systems, and organizational structures while achieving business objectives and value realization targets.

The ideal candidate brings strong project management expertise, experience leading complex integrations, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior executives. This individual will drive integration planning, risk management, governance, and execution while ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams and business functions.

Roles and Responsibilities

Integration Leadership & Execution
  • lead the project management effort of end-to-end integration projects from due diligence through planning, execution, stabilization, and value realization.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive integration plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple functional workstreams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of business operations, systems, processes, and organizational structures.
  • Monitor integration progress and proactively address risks, issues, and barriers to execution.

Due Diligence & Transaction Support
  • Partner with Corporate Development, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and business leaders to support acquisition due diligence activities from a project management lens.
  • Assess operational, organizational, technology, and people-related risks and opportunities with the support of function leaders during the transaction process.
  • Evaluate integration complexity and develop preliminary integration strategies and plans.
  • Prepare due diligence findings, executive summaries, and recommendations for leadership review.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination among executive sponsors, business leaders, integration teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate integration governance meetings, steering committees, and executive reviews.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and impactful executive-level presentations and status updates.
  • Communicate integration objectives, progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders across all organizational levels.

Program Governance & Risk Management
  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and decision-making processes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate integration risks while ensuring accountability for issue resolution.
  • Track and report key integration metrics, milestones, and value realization targets.
  • Ensure alignment with project management standards, methodologies, and organizational objectives.

Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and implement integration best practices, tools, templates, and lessons learned.
  • Drive process improvements that enhance integration effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Mentor team members and functional leads on project management and integration methodologies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Engineering, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of project, program, or integration management experience.
  • Experience leading acquisitions, mergers, business integrations, organizational transformations, or large-scale cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting due diligence activities and post-acquisition integration planning.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience using project management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of integration management, project management methodologies, and change management principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen with experience evaluating operational, financial, and organizational impacts during due diligence and integration activities.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced executive presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships across all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment and accountability across diverse stakeholder groups.
