We are a rapidly growing organization seeking experienced
Project Managers (multiple openings) to lead initiatives and system transitions for a large enterprise DoD IT environment supporting the DISA Joint Service Provider (JSP). The successful candidate will provide formal project management rigor across approximately 15-20 concurrent initiatives and 15-20 annual project transitions from Engineering to Operations, ensuring scope, schedule, and resources are managed to Government-approved Sponsor Forms. This posting covers Project Control Specialist and Subject Matter Expert (Associate) - Initiatives/Transition openings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Sponsor Forms outlining initiative scope and objectives for Government approval; do not proceed without Government concurrence.
- Within 30 calendar days of initiative approval, identify the team lead, resources required, and deliver a project schedule to complete the initiative.
- Provide weekly status updates on all initiatives and maintain accurate status on a SharePoint site and within the enterprise project management system (PROMIS or equivalent).
- Track initiative tasks and subtasks in the enterprise ITSM ticket system (Remedy/Helix), and document level of effort, time, and resources involved.
- Create or update documentation required to support each initiative, including future O&M plans and supporting RMF artifacts.
- Lead transition of approximately 15-20 projects per year from the JSP Engineering team to Platform Services Operational teams, including participating in design phases, coordinating internal acceptance, and identifying transition risks.
- Coordinate Platform Service project tasks for early lifecycle backups, monitoring, and patching; provide design and transition feedback to the JSP Transition team within 5 business days.
- Within 15 calendar days of a project transition, update internal SOPs, Work Instructions, and CMDB records to reflect the transitioned project.
- Maintain situational awareness of project lifecycles and provide Platform Services feedback on project scope changes in weekly status updates.
- Develop and present project briefs to JPH/JSP Leadership and provide PROMIS inputs within 48 hours of meetings with Division leadership.
- Apply industry-standard project management practices in accordance with PMI / PMBOK and ITIL service transition principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of project management experience on DoD or federal IT services contracts, including managing concurrent initiatives or technology transitions.
- PMP certification required (or DAU Level III PM equivalent); ITIL Foundation certification strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise project management and ITSM tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Remedy, ServiceNow) and SharePoint to manage portfolios.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across compute, storage, virtualization, applications, cyber, and operations disciplines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief Government leadership and produce executive-level project documentation.
- Working understanding of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and IAVM impacts on project schedules and acceptance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholders for IT modernization projects in a complex enterprise environment.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and seven (7) recent years of documented relevant project management experience.
Clearance Requirement:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
Work Environment:
- 100% onsite at a government facility within the National Capital Region (NCR), primarily at the Pentagon, Crystal Gateway, Taylor Building, Mark Center, or other JSP-designated alternate site. Must be local to the DC Metro Area with reliable transportation.
- Must comply with all DoD, DISA, and JSP security and access protocols, including the ability to access NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.
