Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to support our growing portfolio of communications systems portfolio. This role supports day-to-day execution of complex system development, integration, and fielding while ensuring the cost, schedule and performance, risk is managed to meet customer expectations and contractual requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, baseline, and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in Microsoft Project, aligned to SOWs, customer milestones, project dependencies, and internal GA-ASI review gates.
  • Decompose SOW requirements into detailed tasks, resources, and dependencies, and track cost, schedule, and technical performance; identify variances and support corrective actions.
  • Lead recurring internal project meetings across systems engineering, software, hardware, production, test, logistics, security, contracts, and finance.
  • Clearly communicate priorities, required staffing levels, and timing to functional groups; help negotiate tradeoffs when resources are constrained.
  • Support the management of subcontractors and key suppliers, including scope definition, schedule and deliverable tracking, and coordination of technical and programmatic reviews.
  • Ensure clear work packages, ownership, and priorities for engineering, integration, test, and documentation activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement and tracking of all project hardware and software in partnership with Supply Chain and Engineering.
  • Own the project risk and opportunity register in accordance with GA-ASI processes and customer templates; identify, quantify, and track risks related to schedule, cost, technical performance, cybersecurity, qualification, and external dependencies and coordinate risks amongst functional leads.
  • Drive risk mitigation and issue resolution with accountable owners; escalate when needed and provide clear status and trends in internal and customer-facing reports.
  • Work closely with technical leads to understand and track progress on system architecture, software, hardware, integration, and test activities, ensuring requirements traceability from customer specifications through design, implementation, verification, and validation.
  • Coordinate preparation and timely delivery of artifacts for business and technical reviews, test plans/reports, logistics documentation, and other contract deliverables.
  • Coordinate inputs and assemble technical and business status reports in accordance with contract and SOW requirements.
  • Follow GA-ASI internal program management, configuration management, and review-gate processes.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and nine or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least three of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Proven experience managing cost estimates, schedule, and technical performance on DoW or other government development contracts.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Products to include Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and other related project management or collaboration tools (e.g., risk registers, action/decision logs, Jira, dashboards).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work with engineering, software, production, contracts, and finance in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and/or Cost Account Management is highly desired.
  • Experience with communication, network or information systems, software development, or other complex technical systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Department of War contracts and programs is a plus.
  • Experience with GA-ASI internal program management processes, tools, and review practices is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, functional managers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or a similar environment is a plus.
