Full Job Description
HSBC's transaction banking business, Global Payments Solutions (GPS), is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead Cross Border Cross Currency (CBCC) strategic initiatives. In this role, you will be pivotal in driving the strategy and execution of strategic and innovative payments projects. You will be crucial to the enhancement of our currency clearing and international payment capabilities, with a keen focus on further improving the client experience and resilience for our US and global customers. The successful candidate will help deliver strategic initiatives, connecting the CBCC business with our operations and technology partners to ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and client-centric solutions, as well as ensuring front-line readiness for new and evolved products. Key Responsibilities: • Lead strategic projects from inception to completion, making sure they align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects, balancing scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and expected benefits. • Apply your deep knowledge of USD Clearing systems (like Fedwire and SWIFT) and ISO standards to improve project outcomes and ensure compliance with both domestic and international payment regulations. • Use your understanding of international payments and deposit systems to support key initiatives. Work closely with cross-functional teams to create scalable, resilient, and client-focused solutions. • Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, Product, Treasury, Finance, Operations, and Risk (onshore and offshore). Communicate effectively to deliver robust and compliant payment processing solutions and provide regular updates to senior management. • Identify and manage project risks and dependencies, actively challenging and removing obstacles, and taking steps to minimize their impact and ensure successful delivery. • Make sure the business is ready for change by coordinating user training, cutover planning, and post-implementation support. • Champion ongoing improvement and innovation by using analytics, and client & internal stakeholder feedback, to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction. You will have the following qualifications and experience to succeed in this role: • Extensive experience in project management or product development, with a proven record of delivering complex projects in a matrixed, international environment. • Firsthand experience with USD Clearing payment systems (Fedwire, SWIFT), and a solid grasp of international payments, deposit systems, and ISO 20022 standards. • Proven experience in USD Clearing payment systems (Fedwire, SWIFT), and a solid understanding of international payments, deposit systems, and ISO 20022 standards. • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to make independent decisions and foster a high-performance culture. • Stakeholder Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence senior stakeholders, drive decision-making, and ensure accountability across diverse teams. • Agile & Business Analysis Mindset: Business Analysis, Project Management, and Agile experience; PMP or Agile Product Manager/Owner certifications are a plus.
