Job Details The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Engineering department as a Project Manager. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects, this position will be responsible for the successful completion of capital projects from initiation to completion as assigned by the Manager, Capital Projects.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project objectives, manage expectations, and drive successful outcomes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions to keep initiatives on track.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports, providing clear communication to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure quality and compliance by enforcing project governance frameworks, standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in construction, civil project delivery, or capital project management; or a related 2-year diploma with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
- Holds one of the following certifications: Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Professional Licensee (P.L.Eng), Professional Technologist (P.Tech), Certified Technologist (C.Tech), or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET). Eligibility for registration with APEGA or ASET.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Hours of Work- We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).
- Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Compensation- The salary ranges from $91,280.54 - $111,056.92 per year, including a comprehensive benefits package with a flexible spending account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation starting at 3 weeks per year.

- Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.
