Full Job Description
Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Project Manager will manage the MOSAAIC study, a research cohort focused on the Asian American community. Primary responsibilities include overseeing recruitment, informed consent, and the logistics of biospecimen and questionnaire collection. The Project Manager will maintain IRB documentation, conduct EMR reviews, and collaborate across clinical and research teams. Beyond study coordination, the role provides administrative oversight for personnel functions and database management. This position includes the direct supervision of four research staff members.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates recruitment and enrollment of study participants, including informed consent procedures
  • Manages the distribution, receipt, and tracking of questionnaires
  • Conducts participant follow-up activities to support retention and study compliance
  • Responds to participant inquiries via phone and other communication channels in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintains IRB protocols, regulatory documentation, and ensures compliance with institutional and federal guidelines
  • Reviews electronic medical records (EMR) to identify eligible participants
  • Organizes and maintains study case files and regulatory binders
  • Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all study data
  • Maintains and updates study databases and tracking systems
  • Oversees processing and tracking of biospecimens (e.g., fecal and oral samples)
  • Monitor research budget
  • Provide direct supervision and coordination for a team of 45 research staff.
  • Train staff in a variety of research procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC) HR unit to coordinate the Non-Traditional Volunteer (NTV) application process, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant. Assists with the renewal process for NTVs upon request from the Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Acts as the primary departmental liaison to the Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC) HR unit, managing the end-to-end onboarding process for Project Assistants, Student Interns, and Research Coordinators.


Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree and 4 years of relevant research coordination experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and project management skills.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse study populations.
Demonstrated ability to manage participant communications with professionalism, patience, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in public health or a related field.
Experience managing large cohort studies or population-based research.
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
Familiarity with REDCap or similar research data systems.
Experience working with diverse populations, including Asian American communities.
Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,481.61 - $121,580.64 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
