Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide owner-representative planning and coordination for airport-led capital projects at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The role will focus on aligning construction activities with operational requirements, schedules, stakeholder decisions, and mitigation plans. Initial assignments may include passenger boarding bridge and gate-related improvements, with the opportunity to transition into related terminal interior or owner-led scopes as project needs evolve.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day owner-side contact for assigned airport-led projects and coordinate requirements among airport representatives, airline stakeholders, operations, facilities, design teams, and contractors.
  • Review project scope, design, phasing, logistics, and schedules to identify conflicts and impacts to gates, aircraft operations, passenger processing, airline facilities, and adjacent work.
  • Coordinate gate closures, passenger boarding bridge outages, temporary operating conditions, construction access, security requirements, shutdowns, and related operational mitigations.
  • Track stakeholder requirements, comments, approvals, decisions, actions, schedules, risks, issues, and decision deadlines needed to maintain project progress.
  • Prepare regular project reporting and escalate significant risks, conflicts, or decisions requiring leadership involvement.
  • Support transition into related owner-led interior renovation, tenant improvement, or capital project assignments as project needs evolve.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant project management experience supporting active-airport construction, aviation, terminal, or comparable capital projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Demonstrated owner-representative experience coordinating airport authorities, airline stakeholders, designers, contractors, and operational teams.
  • Strong experience integrating operational requirements with construction planning, phasing, logistics, schedules, and project controls while independently managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, meeting facilitation, issue-resolution, and project-reporting skills.
  • Direct SFO or airline project experience preferred.
  • Passenger boarding bridge, gate, apron, or terminal project experience preferred.
  • Experience coordinating airport-led projects with airline-funded or airline-impacted improvements, as well as interior renovation or tenant-improvement work, preferred.


$149,833 - $212,719 a year

The salary range for this position is $149,833 to $212,719.

A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location.

Location and Commitments
  • Overtime work may be required occasionally to ensure certain deliverables are completed on time
  • Weekend work is rare but occasionally may be necessary

  • May need to lift and carry up to 15 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or overhead.


Additional Requirements

Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
