Responsible for management, organizing, and successful completion of multiple divisional/department projects within the organization. This role will be responsible for both delivering and continually improving services for each of these project types through the development, maintenance, and advancement of policies, processes, and capabilities related to the Drive strategic initiatives and analyze data to provide insights for upper-level management to make important business decisions that helps the organization's profitability. Serves as resource to advise teams and effectively guide project teams in the development of new programs, tools, systems and/or any processes to optimize business strategies and organizational goals. Bases decisions on facts and data to measure and evaluate/meet project requirements and expectations. The ability to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders while monitoring team's work to ensure quality and effectiveness of data analysis to meet project goals is required.
Develop and implement PMO processes and policies, direct project management staff, and work with other department leaders to continually refine project processes. Provide oversight and guidance for project management staff by developing or modifying work plans, assigning and distributing work, providing work instruction, resolving problems encountered during day to day activities. Develop and maintain formal performance metrics for tracking project performance. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Assess overall quality of project management deliverables of the projects. Direct and oversee team to ensure programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements as well as intended benefits. Maintain an efficiently sized, high-functioning project management team to service a diverse range of project types. Responsible for career development, performance management, and the performance review process for Program/Project Managers. Responsible for the oversight and management of department budget as well as bi-weekly forecasts. Develop relationships with and ensure appropriate participation of key stakeholders and executives related to projects under the direction of the Project Office.
Reports directly to VP Finance/CFO
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, MIS or directly related discipline. 8-10 years experience in project/program management, product development, systems design/development or business/financial planning and analysis. Experience in planning major projects including development of project proposals, business cases, schedules and financial justification. Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Knowledge and application of QDM practices/principles. Relevant experience in a multi-customer logistics environment is preferred. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively at multiple levels, demonstrated self-confidence, strong relationship building skills. Demonstrated ability to listen to and understand the needs of different groups, make persuasive presentations, inspire employees, effectively negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders, sell ideas, influence others, and lead change.
Collaboration, flexibility, relationship building, and consensus building are key for this position. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and timely in consideration of audience and medium. Proficiency with MS Office suite required.
