Step Into Your New Role

The Southern California Area is seeking to fill a position of a Project Geotechnical Engineer. This position can be based in Kleinfelders Laguna Hills, Riverside or Los Angeles, California offices.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
  • Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support under supervision.
  • Coordinate tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
  • Prepare designs, reports and calculations on complex projects for review.

We are looking for someone with the ability to provide quality technical support on commercial, municipal, transportation, energy and water projects. Experience on design/build projects preferred.

Strong analytical skills are required in areas including:

  • soil and rock classification,
  • slope stability analysis,
  • earth retention systems,
  • shallow and deep foundation design,
  • materials testing and engineering
  • soil improvement techniques, and
  • pavement design.

Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations and heavy civil project design and construction are preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • 6 to 10 years of related experience or 4 years related experience with a Masters or 2 years of related experience with PhD.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)License
  • Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
  • The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to travel and perform field work, even under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
  • Position will require the candidate to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.

Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

Salary Range:$91,000 - $120,000.
