The Ruhlin Company seeks to hire a Project Executive - Transportation for its Civil Division. Summary: Achieve successful project procurement, buyout, and execution by working closely with project management while ensuring quality, schedule, cost control, revenue, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met on all projects that fall within an assigned work genre.
Responsibilities:Cost- Achieve an assigned percentage of the division's financial goal.
- Review project margin analysis and cost analysis regularly.
- Oversee all financials.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of scopes of work and contract documents.
- Manage claims; identify and resolve potential claims with subcontractors/suppliers.
- Participate in project coordination meetings.
- Ensure all compensation for work performed is received.
General- Ensure Company policies and division procedures are understood and implemented consistently.
- Participate in the review of major and complex projects to be bid on or negotiated.
- Maintain a work environment free of harassment, intimidation, or coercion.
- Cooperate fully in achieving the Company's equal employment opportunity objectives.
- Bring to the attention of the Division Manager and Director of Human Resources, in a timely manner, any employee relations issues that arise such as inadequate work performance or policy violations.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Division Manager.
Networking- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key owners and design professionals.
- Attend and participate in industry meetings and networking events.
Quality- Ensure project startups, schedules, and costs are properly executed, tracked, reported, and maintained.
- Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
Safety- Accountable for safety; ensure adherence to Company safety policies.
- Work with the safety department to ensure employees have proper resources and all necessary safety training.
Schedule- Review project proposals and plans to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Oversee the development of the baseline project schedule with assistance from Project Manager, Superintendent and/or Scheduler.
- Oversee that the Project Manager and project team maintains/updates project schedule bi-weekly or monthly for the duration of the project.
Talent Acquisition and Employee Development- Work with the division manager, operations, and human resources departments for project staffing.
- Evaluate the work performance of and provide professional development guidance to employees.
Essential Skills and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering technology, construction management, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years supervisory experience within the construction industry.
- Minimum 7 years estimating, project management, scheduling, and cost control experience within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership presence.
- Ability to read and understand technical and statistical data, interpret construction and architectural drawings and specifications.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Good problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and functional level.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Viewpoint Vista, HCSS Heavy Job, HCSS estimating software, scheduling software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to work some non-traditional work hours (evenings and weekends).
- Team-focused mindset to build strong working relationships.
