Description

Reporting to the Director, Residential New Product Development, the Project Engineering Manager is responsible for driving the end-to-end development of innovative products-from concept through design, validation, and launch. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. You will lead a group of engineers through the product development cycle, engaging with cross-functional teams to meet product scope and timing requirements.

As the Project Engineering Manager, you will:
  • Lead and manage an engineering team with varying levels of experience, focused on new product development
  • Drive and support the full product development lifecycle: concept, feasibility, design, prototyping, testing, and commercialization
  • Engage directly with Sales, Marketing, Application Engineering, AME, Program Management, Procurement, and other supporting groups to advance NPD efforts
  • Establish project timelines, budgets, and resource plans; track progress and mitigate risks
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and best engineering practices
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performance team culture


Required education, experiences & skills:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience with new product development through a systematic product release process
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, schedule development, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills across functions
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to develop others and drive professional growth
  • Excellent critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Works effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions

Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions. With the blend of businesses and functions represented under this one roof, there are many opportunities for advancement within the Sidney location

Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.
