Engineering

Bring your experience and ideas and help us deliver the highest quality products and services to our customers. In this position, you will be an integral part of the Aeronautical Accessories engineering and product development team. You will lead product management activities for new product design and integration, drive improvements to existing products, and provide engineering support across aircraft completions and parts manufacturing. This role is responsible for managing development projects from concept through manufacturing start-up and transition to production, ensuring alignment with business goals, program requirements, budget, and schedule.

What you'll be doing as a Project Engineer Specialist
• Lead and manage new product development initiatives and related engineering projects, ensuring performance requirements are met within established budget and schedule constraints.
• Manage projects through the complete stage-gate development cycle, maintaining adherence to established best-practice methodologies and ensuring optimal project outcomes.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects across cross-functional teams, overseeing engineering actions, status reporting, risk tracking, and gate reviews.
• Drive product development through manufacturing start-up, including tooling definition, process development, supplier coordination, and successful transition into production.
• Interface with internal departments and external customers to capture product performance requirements and translate them into clear statements of work for Design and Certification Engineering.
• Provide design support for new products and product improvements for aircraft systems, STC kits, and customized completions.
• Support design activities including preparation, review, and release of engineering drawings and documentation in accordance with technical specifications and Bell/AA/FAA standards.
• Assist in research, troubleshooting, and resolution of product support inquiries, coordinating with customer support and manufacturing as needed.
• Coordinate schedules, budgets, supplier interfaces, and cross-functional activities for engineering programs, including future aircraft upgrades or modification projects executed at the Piney Flats facility.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and project management processes, tools, and standards.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and FOD-free work environment and promote a strong safety culture.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills You Bring to this Role
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, or other related engineering discipline is required.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in project engineering, product development, and/or aircraft modifications.
• Experience working in aerospace/aviation, aircraft completions, STC development, or closely related industry strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects from concept through certification and into production, including schedule and budget management.
• Familiarity with stage-gate or similar product development methodologies and strong working knowledge of aircraft structure and systems.
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD (e.g., CATIA/SolidWorks or similar), PLM systems, and standard office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and statements of work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical issues and drive decisions across cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interface with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and leadership.
• Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision while effectively collaborating in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment, including regular movement between engineering, production, and hangar areas.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based engineering and project management tasks.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop throughout the workday when supporting shop floor activities or inspections.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, drawings, and equipment up to approximately 25 lbs as needed.
• Manual dexterity to work with models, prototypes, tooling samples, and measuring devices.
• Visual acuity to read detailed technical drawings, specifications, and computer displays, and to visually inspect parts and installations.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as required when in production or hangar areas.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and hangar environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, and typical chemicals used in aviation and manufacturing processes.
