Overview

Ragnar Benson Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a driven Project Engineers to support passenger and heavy rail construction, data centers, and commercial building projects across the United States.

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating project documentation, managing submittals and RFIs, supporting scheduling and subcontractor activities, tracking project costs and quantities, ensuring quality control, and assisting with project closeout efforts. Working closely with project management and field teams, the Project Engineer plays a key role in delivering complex construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on large-scale projects nationwide while building a long-term career with a leading contractor in the transportation and infrastructure industry.

Travel & Project Assignment: You can live in any city or state in the continental United States. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the United States.

Must be capable of working on-site for 2 weeks with a four-day home rotation. We offer designated per diem of $1,020 per week in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses during the travel rotation. You must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for the assigned work location.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing scheduling of subcontractors on site
  • Receiving and checking quality of materials
  • Completing QA/QC checklists
  • Submittals (material approvals)
  • RFI's (general questions)
  • Preparing official documents for the project, routing and finalizing
  • Preparing projects reports as needed
  • Back up documentation
  • Close-outs final quantities
  • Proposing/ negotiation extra work
  • Special projects within the Project Management function as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Management Department

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Civil Engineers, Construction Management, or related field preferred); High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience in Civil or Industrial Construction is required
