Job Description

The Project Engineer will support the Ground Production Operations Integrated Product Team (IPT) in day to day program execution across the LRHW program. This role serves as a key integrator between Ground Production, Engineering, and other IPTs, ensuring coordination, communication, and execution of production-related activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced development and production environment.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the Ground Production Operations IPT representative at various program meetings such as Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
- Support preparation, review, and coordination of engineering changes, production updates, and configuration-controlled documentation.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver weekly status files and program-level updates for leadership visibility.
- Act as the focal point for new production requests originating from other IPTs, ensuring proper routing, evaluation, and closure.
- Track and manage action items, risks, opportunities, issues, and cross-team dependencies related to Ground Production efforts.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management to support production readiness and execution.
- Support development and maintenance of production schedules, metrics, and performance indicators.
- Assist with process improvements, workflow coordination, and data-driven decision-making across the IPT.
- Ensure compliance with program requirements, configuration management processes, and internal engineering guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience in engineering, production operations, project engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across multiple IPTs and functional organizations.
- Experience tracking technical tasks, schedules, and/or action items in a structured environment.
- Ability to interpret technical data, engineering documents, and configuration-controlled artifacts.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
- Must be able to work 100% on-site in Huntsville, AL.
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the program.

Desired skills

- Experience supporting defense programs or other highly regulated technical programs.
- Familiarity with Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Change Control Boards (CCB), and configuration management processes.
- Experience with production or manufacturing environments, especially in aerospace/defense.
- Background working with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, DOORS, or PLM/CM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
- Knowledge of hypersonics, missiles, or ground system operations is a plus.
- Active security clearance.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
