Role SummaryAs a Project Engineer reporting to [Pending User Input], you will plan, organize, control, integrate, and complete plant engineering projects. You will successfully manage project scope, budgets, schedules, timelines, documentation, and risk analysis while establishing and maintaining critical relationships with third-party business partners.
Responsibilities- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and successfully attain their technical and business objectives.
- Execute specific project phases, including technical studies, product design, specification preparation, and product testing.
- Coordinate technical development, project scheduling, and problem resolution for engineering design and tests.
- Control project expenditures strictly within budget constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive interim and completion reports, including the Engineering Project Review.
- Provide functional and technical support to the plant floor to minimize production and maintenance issues.
- Apply engineering expertise to equipment design, problem-solving, and continuous quality improvement.
- Develop project scopes, justifications, and factory impact assessments, including cost estimates, savings, and timing plans.
- Hire and supervise contractors effectively within the scope of project management.
- Maintain a robust backup of technical files, vendor contacts, and engineering groups to proactively address new business requirements.
- Participate in committees or task forces to contribute to overarching company goals.
Required Qualifications- BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cGMP manufacturing, emphasizing project management and engineering from concept through implementation.
- Knowledge of CEB Capital Procurement, and EOHS.
- Ability to support manufacturing operations, including occasional off-shift, weekend, or holiday work for project installations, startups, trials, and critical interventions.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights up to 120 ft, working in confined spaces, and standing or walking for at least 50% of the scheduled shift.
- Ability to wear all required Fall Protection Equipment and other PPE, as well as work in extreme weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in food-related manufacturing with strong operations knowledge.
- Experience with packaging equipment automation controls, robotics, and vision systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Prior experience with Capital Budget mangagement
- Technical proficiency in extrusion/packaging technology, statistical process control (SPC), CPk, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of standard weights and measures, as well as AIB, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory agency design requirements.
- Prior experience managing bulk material handling systems for raw materials and finished products.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range $86,000.00 - $121,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
