Job DescriptionThe Digital Ecosystem Architecture Project Engineer supports the development, coordination, and execution of the organization's enterprise digital ecosystem strategy. This role operates at the intersection of engineering, program management, business operations, and digital transformation, helping to define and mature the architecture, governance, and operational implementation of the company's digital ecosystem.
This role is responsible for supporting activities coordination across business units and capability units to ensure alignment of processes, data, tools, and organizational objectives within the evolving digital ecosystem. The position supports the definition and management of authoritative programmatic and business-domain architecture elements, including data governance, digital thread integration, requirements development, and cross-functional operational coordination.
The ideal candidate combines strong organizational and analytical skills with systems thinking, communication ability, and an interest in enabling enterprise transformation. This role is intended for a highly collaborative individual capable of operating effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholder communities.
What You'll Do:- Support the development and maturation of the enterprise digital ecosystem architecture across engineering, programmatic, operational, and business domains
- Contribute to the definition of authoritative programmatic/business-domain nodes, including associated behaviors, interfaces, requirements, and operational workflows
- Assist in defining and documenting digital thread interactions between applications, data sources, processes, and organizations
- Help identify opportunities to improve data flow, traceability, integration, and decision-making across the enterprise
- Coordinate architecture and process alignment activities across multiple business units and capability organizations
- Data Governance & Digital Thread Coordination
- Support enterprise data governance activities, including data ownership alignment, metadata management, data quality coordination, and governance process implementation.
- Assist in establishing common approaches for authoritative data management and digital thread continuity.
- Coordinate with engineering, IT, program management, manufacturing, mission assurance, and operations stakeholders to ensure data interoperability and alignment.
- Support the identification and documentation of cross-domain dependencies, interfaces, and governance gaps.
- Programmatic & Business Operations Support:
- Support programmatic management activities associated with the digital ecosystem organization, including:
- Cost planning and tracking.
- Budget coordination and reporting.
- Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development and maintenance.
- Schedule coordination.
- Risk and action item tracking.
- Status reporting and leadership briefings.
- Assist with strategic planning activities, roadmap coordination, and organizational transformation initiatives.
- Support preparation of executive-level communications, metrics, dashboards, and presentations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Organizational Change:
- Facilitate collaboration across engineering, IT, program management, finance, operations/manufacturing, and business operations teams.
- Support organizational change management (OCM) initiatives associated with digital program execution and digital ecosystem adoption.
- Help coordinate working groups, workshops, governance forums, and stakeholder engagements.
- Assist in capturing and communicating best practices, lessons learned, and implementation guidance across the organization.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Skills and Education- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

- Familiarity with digital engineering, MBSE, PLM, ERP, program controls, or enterprise architecture environments.
- Ability to develop clear documentation, presentations, and status reporting materials.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and operate effectively in evolving environments.
