Role description:Arcadis seeks a Project Ecologist to join our Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Office of Environmental Services (OES) Ecology Support Services team. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated, full-time role supporting delivery of Ecology Initiatives to improve GDOT Program Delivery including training media, guidance materials, programmatic agreements, and research.
Role accountabilities:- Leading delivery of various Ecology Initiatives including management of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Developing content (e.g., scripts and storyboards) and providing creative input for multi-media training related to GDOT ecology special studies.
- Drafting guidance documents (i.e., Guidebooks and Toolkits) based on current GDOT and resource agency policy and procedures.
- Collaborating with GDOT and resources agency staff to develop programmatic agreements to streamline agency coordination.
- Leading research projects designed to improve GDOT ecological resource protection, including study design, implementation, maintenance/monitoring, reporting, and presentation.
Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, natural resource management, or similar environmental discipline.
- 7 or more years' experience completing ecology special studies on behalf of GDOT including wetland/stream delineation, protected species survey, Section 7 Endangered Species Act consultation, Section 404 Clean Water Act permitting, and Georgia buffer variance applications.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies responsible for oversight of federally funded transportation projects in Georgia.

- Proven experience delivering complex GDOT ecology reports and permit applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in biology, ecology, natural resource management, or similar environmental discipline.
- Previous experience developing training media, guidance documents, survey methodologies, and/or agency agreements on behalf of GDOT.
- Experience leading/conducting research related to transportation ecology.
- Demonstratable proficiency with GDOT Plan Development Process, TPro, and Primavera P6.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
