Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range: $68,932 - $103,409 per year
Shifts: Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:00
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary:
As an integral member of the FM-PRO Facilities Operation, the PROJECT COORDINATOR works as part of a team and coordinates capital project activities under the direction of the Senior Project Manager and works with Facilities Operation Team.

The Project Coordinator will be a highly organized individual with background and experience with supporting healthcare capital projects, especially capital projects, including the maintaining of project schedules, creating and editing deliverables, and managing risks, communications and reporting updates to stakeholders at various levels. The individual in this role will be a clear communicator and skilled writer and will be comfortable creating, writing and editing proposals and presentations.

Duties:
  • Provide project management day-to-day support to the Manager.
  • Coordinating construction projects, playing a key role in assessing client requirements to ensure the quality delivery of projects for the benefit of all patients, staff and visitors at the Hospital
  • Develop and use standard tools and processes established in the organization, such as Microsoft Office Templates in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the use of Project Management software.
  • Supervising the various tradesmen providing different elements of building services, including architectural, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Oversee and support all aspects of projects including planning, coordination, tracking, evaluation and budget management.
  • Preparation and maintenance of project documentation including proposals, project plans, budgets, meeting agendas, documents and decks.
  • Monitor and report on progress, risks and issues associated with the project to all stakeholders and escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide strategies for risk mitigation and resolution where appropriate.
  • Working in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention's of the Act, in a timely manner
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood.
  • Schedules meetings with multiple stakeholders with complex calendars and manages meeting calendars and meeting resources
  • Performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested


Qualifications
  • At minimum, a completion of a 4 -year diploma in Mechanical or Marine or Stationary 2nd Class or community college diploma program, in Mechanical or Construction Technology or diploma, in mechanical or HVAC Civil Engineering/Construction Technology or completion of an apprenticeship program as, industrial mechanical.
  • Minimum 5+ years related practical experience with significant exposure to plant equipment maintenance required.
  • Experience within a unionized hospital environment preferred
  • Certified in WHMIS safety training.
  • Ability to read/write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and Architectural drawings.
  • Knowledge of Codes, Regulations, WHMIS, OHSA, Hospital Policies.
    Knowledge of financial management procedures.
  • Must be capable of maintaining multiple communication channels.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards.
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task.
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
