About the Role

WEG Electric Corp. is building a pipeline of Project Controllers for an anticipated project award. While the start date has not yet been determined, we're interested in speaking with professionals who may be exploring opportunities due to project completion, contract expiration, or future career planning. This position will be based in Duluth, GA.

The Project Controller partners closely with Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accurate order setup, invoicing, forecasting, financial reporting, and administrative compliance. This role serves as a key liaison between Project Management and Accounting, helping drive successful project execution through strong financial oversight and operational support.

Primary Responsibilities

Project Support & Execution
  • Serve as an integral resource for the Project Management Department across all phases of project execution.
  • Ensure project administrative compliance with established methodologies and internal standards.
  • Assist with order handover processes, supporting initial setup and ongoing administrative tasks.
  • Support Project Managers with SAP and IPEX functionalities, including reporting, scheduling, and financial document management
  • Address discrepancies in the order entry process and resolve SAP- and IPEX-related technical issues as needed.

Financial Management
  • Perform regular financial reviews, including forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Create, manage, and update project invoicing structures during the order entry process and throughout order execution.
  • Perform accurate final invoicing, ensuring payment processing aligns with project financial milestones and company standards.
  • Regularly monitor progress billings, ensuring Project Managers release billings on schedule.
  • Safeguard the company's commercial and contractual interests in all financial dealings.

Resource & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and financial reporting, acting as a liaison between Project Management and Accounting.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership (including revenue recognition reports and sales forecasting reports), highlighting financial risks and opportunities.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience & Knowledge
  • 7 years of experience in project controlling, project accounting, financial analysis, accounting, financial management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting project-based, manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or custom-order environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP software strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with financial management systems and reporting tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and data management.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial forecasting, variance analysis, and project performance reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and build productive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and customer focus.
  • Ability to prepare professional documentation and reports independently.
