Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • B.S. degree in relevant technical field (required).
  • In special circumstances, candidates who have not met the required education, but have substantial manufacturing work experience that is applicable to the job may be considered.
  • Required – Manufacturing Supervision (3-5 years)
  • Required - Work experience (8-10 years)
  • Preferred - Process/Project Engineer in an assembly operation (3-5 years).
  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills (8D methodology).
  • Must have good computer and math skills.
  • Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to make group presentations.
  • Must have the ability to be well presented to the customer and maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Must be able to assume supervisory duties and be effective at performing tasks through others.
  • Participates in business planning process, relative to the site.
  • Ensures safe working conditions for employees of the site, including ensuring employees receive proper safety training and are following safety procedures & practices.  Also tracks safety audits and ensures effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Ensures employees in areas of responsibility receive the training and development they need to perform their responsibilities effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with all operational objectives and targets for regulatory requirements in areas of responsibility.
  • Must be competent in & utilize AIAG "Core Tools" (Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plan)
  • Assists direct reports by coaching, counseling, motivating and providing technical support as necessary.
  • Conducts performance appraisals on direct reports and ensures others on site do the same in a timely manner.
  • Applies disciplinary actions within department as needed.
  • Directs implementation of continuous improvement/cost reduction activities within areas of responsibility, including submitting improvement ideas.
  • Interviews and selects technical and salaried personnel for hire in areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record.
  • Supervises:  Site Engineer, Quality Engineer, Production Supervisors, Shipping/Receiving Coordinators, and Systems Engineer
  • Ensures housekeeping in facility is maintained to Nascote & Magna standards.
  • Ensures site team meetings are being held and all documentation is recorded and kept.
  • Champions safety and quality 8D’s that are executed by his team and ensures effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Facilitates lateral moves, postings, layoffs and recalls of GPW personnel in department as needed by the staffing firm.
  • Completes documentation of activities as required.  Approves time sheets, leaves and vacations.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
