Position Overview

IMS is seeking an experienced Program Scheduler to support a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing client in Northern New Jersey.

This is a hybrid position that combines remote work with onsite collaboration. Candidates should expect to travel onsite approximately 40% of the time.

The ideal candidate brings strong scheduling expertise, experience working within complex production environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management teams.

This position requires a proactive professional who can identify schedule risks, develop recovery plans, and drive continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Program Scheduling
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) supporting the full program lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain executable program and production schedules aligned with customer requirements, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and program milestones.
  • Establish and maintain schedule baselines while ensuring schedule integrity throughout program execution.
  • Support planning activities from program initiation through production and final delivery.
  • Lead planning sessions and schedule reviews with cross-functional program teams.

Schedule Analysis & Reporting
  • Perform schedule trend analysis, variance analysis, critical path analysis, and impact assessments.
  • Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities while developing mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Generate schedule metrics, reports, dashboards, and status updates for program leadership and customers.
  • Communicate schedule performance, forecast completion dates, and program impacts to key stakeholders.

Scheduling Tools & Systems
Develop and maintain manufacturing schedules using industry-standard scheduling applications, including:
  • Microsoft Project Professional
  • Enterprise Project Management (EPM) tools
  • Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) systems

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program scheduling, manufacturing scheduling, production planning, or project scheduling within an aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Experience using Microsoft Project.
  • Experience performing Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA).
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated project or production schedules.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to analyze schedule data and generate reports.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible scheduling experience supporting complex aerospace or defense programs.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community programs.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP/MRP systems, or Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) software.
  • Experience supporting complex or low-rate aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Professional certifications such as AACE, PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent
